The Remote HVAC-CHIP devices (US Patent No. 10,066,849) installed in your HVAC air handler unit, roof top unit or in your building thermostat can:
- Reduce the number of on and off cycles thereby increasing the lifetime of your HVAC unit.
How These Works:
The remote HVAC-CHIP devices records and helps monitor the amount of cycles a HVAC compressor or heater is ON and OFF, room temperature, humidity, and applying adaptive control to optimize energy consumption.
Clicksav and gIQ devices contain a Wi-Fi Wireless Module that allows remote control of an HVAC system by interfacing between a thermostat and an HVAC system.
The function of a thermostat is to control an HVAC system, and functions of the remote devices are to override some of the functionality of the existing thermostat.
The devices utilize algorithms from adaptive control to save energy while providing the most efficient temperature control.
The following functions are provided by the remote devices which override a typical thermostats functions:
- Compressor run, and Compressor rest
- Optional shut down of the fan when a compressor shut down occurs
- Heater shut down via compressor control (In heat pump mode) implementation in electric HVAC systems

Devices must be used in accordance with manufacturer specifications and application guidelines. This includes, but not limited to, gas furnace heating systems, where the operator sets the low speed blower fan start up delay to a minimum of three minutes. Devices should not be used in gas furnace heating system where the low speed blower fan delay cannot be set to three minutes or longer after the call for heat by the operator. Devices ensure that the gas furnace blower fan only runs at high speed for maximum energy savings efficiency.
