1.
Operational Temperature |
- Ambient temperature of - 25°C to +80°C (The coil
will dissipated heat from its resistance). Please contact factory
if higher temperature is needed.
|
2. External Appearance |
- On visual inspection, the surface mount power inductors should
have no visible external defects.
|
3. Terminal Strength |
- After soldering, the surface mount inductor/ choke should
withstand the following test:
- A force of 5N ( 0.15 K GF) is applied for 10 + -2 seconds
between copper trace and the soldered coil in the X direction.
- A force of 5N ( 0.15 K GF) is applied for 10 + -2 seconds
between copper trace and the soldered coil in the Y direction.
- The terminal should not peel off when 1 and 2 are executed.
Refer to figure at right.

 |
4. Heat Endurance Test |
|
5. Dielectric Strength |
- No di-electric breakdown when a 100V DC. is applied for 1
minute between the coil (winding) and the core.
|
6. Insulating Resistance |
- Over 100M ohms at 100V DC. between the coil and the core.
|
7. Inductance Temperature Coefficient |
- (0 ~ 2000) x 10-6 /°C . At ambient tempertaure
of -25°C to +80 °C
|
8. Humididty Test |
- Inductance deviation is within + - 5% after 96 hours in a
90 to 95% relative humidity at 40 + -2°C and a 1 hour drying
period under normal conditions.
|
9. Vibration Test
|
- Inductance deviation is within + - 3.0% after a vibration
period of 1 hour in each of the 3 orientations sweep vibration
(10~55~10Hz) with a 1.5mm peak to peak amplitude.
|
10.Shake / Drop Test |
- Inductance deviation is within + - 3.0% after a drop down
with a 981 m/s2 (100G) shack attitude upon a rubber
block type of shock testing machine. Duration of 1 time, in
each of the 3 orientations.
