Toroidal Power Transformers Description of Part Numbers and Orde

Toroidal Power Transformers - Tape Wound Core

The standard sizes are available from a power level of 18 VA to 690 VA. Different power levels are listed next to the part number as shown in the table below. The primary windings are configured either as 110V, 120V, 220V, 230V, 240V with 50 to 400 Hz or dual combinations such as 110/230V, 50 to 400 Hz, etc. Please specify the exact type when placing your order. The secondary winding can be a single set or an identical dual sets that can be connected as center tap output, i.e. 4 terminals ( + terminal, - terminals and + terminals, - terminal). The AC outputs of the transformers are shown as the output of a single secondary, from the + lead to the -lead. The AC current ( shown below as AC amps) is the current from the + to - terminal, of a single secondary. When used in the final DC output configuration ( with appropriate rectifications using capacitors and inductors), the DC outputs can either be connected in series or in parallel. To connect in series, connect the center taps leads together in series. Connecting them in parallel will half the output voltage and double the output current. The dimensions, diameter and height, are shown in the bottom most table below. The weights are given in lbs. One Kg equals 2.2 lbs.

Part Numbering System:

PT- AAA - BBB - C - DD

PT : CWS Power Transformer
AAA : Primary Input Voltage. All inputs is at 50/60 Hz. The table shows 110 Vac as input. If you need different input voltage, please change this number to any of the following:

110 - default 110Vac input voltage
120 - 120 Vac input
220 - 220 Vac input
230 - 230 Vac input
240 - 240 Vac input

BBB : VA Rating. Also know as power rating

C: Number of secondary outputs. C is either 1 for single set of secondary outputs or 2 for double set of secondary outputs. A single set of secondary outputs will have just 2 terminals ( + and - ) and no provision for center tap connections. Double sets of identical secondary outputs will have 4 terminals, and can be connected in series ( center tap connected) to double the output voltage or connected in parallel to half the output voltage.

DD: The secondary voltage.

Examples
1) PT-110-018-2-06 : means an input of 110Vac, 50/60 Hz. 18 VA of output power. 2 identical sets of secondaries (4 output leads) and the output voltage of each secondary output lead is 6 Vac.

In order to expedite your order, please provide us with complete part number like the examples shown above.
